The contact surfaces of the covers with the bodies of our sewer manholes are machined to guarantee the strength stated in the standard and the comfort of use (no “keying”).
In designing our manholes we try to achieve the maximum support for the plates or the rings of the wells by ensuring the correct values of fit of the base of our bodies. This limits the stresses in concrete relief plates caused by impacts transmitted from car wheels. We try to eliminate the problem of cracking of the relief plates and wells by protecting them from falling in.
Assuring the grip of manhole covers in the manhole bodies is of great importance for the safety of use.
IT IS THE DESIGN AND WEIGHT ALONE THAT MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR A VEHICLE TO RAISE A COVER.
Additionally, FANSULD has threaded locking systems for fixing the covers to the bodies as an effective anti-theft protection system.
STAINLESS STEEL LOCKING SCREWS ARE ADDITIONALLY SECURED BY A SEAL. THE SEAL PROTECTS THE SCREW SEAT AGAINST DIRT.
Threaded locking systems are available as an option for sewer manholes classes B 125, C 250 and D 400. Threaded locking is achieved using a standard bent spanner.

The feet of our manhole bodies have holes, a modification which brought an increase in the efficiency of fixing of manholes into the ground.
According to PN-EN 124, bodies used for sewer manholes in class D 400 with a height of less than 100 mm should be anchored. The holes on the diameter of the body enable the anchoring of all types of body and in consequence their safe use.
The holes guarantee better fixing of the concrete mix with the manhole body even when it is not fixed with anchors.

What is positioning and what is its purpose?
There are four seats in a manhole body with the positioning option, their purpose being to set the orientation of a cover in relation to the axis of the roadway.
The covers have two projections that fit in seats in the body. Positioning is great for covers with a logo, coat of arms or caption because it allows to the cover to remain aligned in accordance with the direction of travel.
Our grey cast iron products do not require the use of elastic inserts for damping, while many people claim it is an indispensable element of the manhole.
While the Polish market is used to manholes with elastic damping inserts, which is an indispensable element of ductile cast iron manholes, FANSULD also offers grey cast iron manholes with an elastic insert installed.
We would like to stress though that the insert plays no role with grey cast iron.
Also the life of the most inserts is short, regardless the material, in comparison to that timeless material – grey cast iron.
